It was August 26, 1920 when the 19th Amendment became law granting women the right to vote. We now recognize August 26th as Women’s Equality Day. How appropriate it was that on the very same day a massive survey of vapers tells us that women are at the leading edge of the vaping revolution. We have a chance to save a billion lives this century and women are leading the charge.
Millions of people around the world now vape instead of smoke. The vaping revolution is thriving. A British survey of 36,000 people found that more than half of the vapers that have quit with ecigs are women.
The Daily Mail in the UK reports that 53% of vapers surveyed were women. Women looking to kick the habit are turning to ecigs and apparently finding success. There is no doubt that any progress in vaping will be hard won. Good news, we’re getting there.
Progress always has its challenges. We’re human. Anytime change comes, there are segments with a vested interest in the status quo. Those interested in the status quo do so because they actually benefit moreso if things stay the same. This is human. This scenario plays out all levels from single households to entire civilizations. The vaping revolution is no different.
Smokers, you account for $85 billion dollars in commerce every year. Do you think that there are some powerful and influential people with an interest in protecting their $85 billion dollar annual payday? Of course you are going to see manipulated studies and scary headlines. Despite the best efforts of special interests, progress has a way of moving forward. The vaping revolution is turning the corner.
More and more studies are now showing that ecigs, used as intended and designed, are much safer than smoking. This week, Public Health England found that ecigs are 95% safer than smoking. The majority of ecig myths have been shattered by actual science and ultimately ecigs are changing lives at the individual level and that’s where it really counts.
Like so much hard won past progress, women are now leading the vaping revolution.
